Overall Winner - Best Fleets to Drive For
For the second time in three years, Fremont Contract Carriers, Inc. (FCC) of Fremont, Nebraska, was selected by the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) and CarriersEdge as a winner in the annual “Best Fleets to Drive For” survey and contest.
Fremont Contract Carriers, Inc. received the honor of being named as the 2011 Best Overall Fleet for Company Drivers. The award was presented on March 15, 2011 at the TCA Annual Convention in San Diego CA.
The Best Fleets to Drive For program was launched in 2009 with Fremont Contract Carriers, Inc. named as the Best Overall Fleet in the Over 100 Power Units category. The contest no longer classifies carriers by size and has since transitioned to divisional categories, Company Drivers and Owner Operators. In selecting the 2011 winners, the TCA said, “FCC continues to excel, boasting one of the most comprehensive bonus programs of any fleet in the 2011 survey. It rewards its drivers for mile production, customer service (on time performance), fuel performance, minimizing out-of-route miles and also company profitability, in addition to the standard safety and referral bonuses. FCC also balances compensation with strong driver/dispatcher relations, solid maintenance programs and continuing investments in safety and technology. All of the 2011 nominated companies have outstanding driver programs, but FCC in particular, has risen above the rest. In its third year, the Best Fleets to Drive For is an annual survey and contest identifying the North American for-hire trucking companies that provide the best workplace experiences for their drivers. Nominated carriers are evaluated on the range and depth of offered programs, the overall effectiveness of those programs across key metrics, and the responses of surveyed drivers. Categories included total compensation and benefit packages, professional development opportunities, commitment to employee personal growth, operational strategies, fleet safety and more. The top twenty finishers are identified as Best Fleets to Drive For, and the highest scoring fleet in each category is named overall winner. The contest was open to any fleet operating 10 trucks or more and is sponsored by the TCA, CarriersEdge and Marsh Inc.

Named Overall Winner of “2009 Best Fleets to Drive For”
Fremont Contract Carriers, Inc. (FCC) has been selected by the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) and CarriersEdge as Overall Winner of the 2009 Best Fleets to Drive For survey and contest. FCC took the top honor in the over 100 power unit category and was presented with the award at the annual TCA Convention on March 10th in Orlando FL.
FCC earned the top award in the large fleet category thanks in part to it’s range of programs closely aligned to meet driver needs. With investments in technology to improve safety and efficiency along with profit sharing, driver wellness, and flexible performance rewards, this combined to deliver strong results in safety, retention and overall driver satisfaction.
